About the Date Difference Calculator
The date difference calculator is an online tool that instantly computes the time gap between two dates. It highlights the total number of days and breaks the span down into weeks, months, years, and weekdays (Monday to Friday). Unlike an age calculator or a business-day calculator, it focuses purely on the raw difference between any two dates, so inputs stay minimal and the tool works comfortably on a phone with one hand.

Frequently asked questions
Does it include both end dates?
No. The tool uses the international standard exclusive method, so the difference between 2026-01-01 and 2026-01-02 is 1 day. If you need an inclusive count (for example, counting hotel nights), just add 1 to the displayed total.
What happens if the end date is earlier than the start date?
It does not matter which date you enter first. The tool always reports the absolute difference, so the result is always a positive number of days. A small hint is shown below the result when the end date is earlier than the start date.
How are weekdays counted? Are holidays excluded?
Weekdays are counted as Monday through Friday. Public holidays are not excluded. If you need an exact business-day count with holidays, see the related Business Day Calculator.
Why can't I calculate a difference larger than 150 years?
The tool is optimized for everyday use cases such as contracts, tenure, and anniversaries, so we cap the range at 150 years for accuracy and performance. For longer spans, you can split the calculation into two steps.
Is my data sent to a server?
No. Every calculation runs entirely in your browser. No date data ever leaves your device or gets stored on a server.
